A number of the homes, as well as the downtown commercial center, are included in the National Register of Historic Places. We are within walking distance to a number of restaurants, shops, and galleries in downtown Berlin, MD. The inn is eight miles from the fun and excitement of Ocean City and the relaxing natural beaches of Assateague Island State and National Parks.
Holland House was originally opened by Jim and Jan Quick in 1986. They have owned and operated the inn for 38 years while working their own professions outside of the inn and raising their daughter Hattie. As of 2024 Hattie Burkey and her husband Jacob have taken over. They have updated the house to allow for self check-in and Air BnB reservations. Similar to Jan and Jim, Hattie and Jacob will be working their jobs outside of the house and raising their two young children while running the inn.
The town of Berlin is a romantic and cozy little village. There are multiple restaurants, coffee shops, and stores offering antiques and sharing their own unique history of the area. Couple that with a short drive to the sandy beaches of Ocean City and Assateague Island, and Berlin is at the heart of a bustling small community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

We have parking on site and free street parking across the street and in the town parking lot next door.
We do not allow any pets.
We do allow well-behaved children aged 10 and over. With the exception of the upstairs suite, our rooms accommodate 2 guests, and we do not allow air-mattresses or cots. If you book the whole house, we may allow special circumstances for younger children.
Check-in begins at 4:00 pm and is flexible beyond that with your unique front door and room door access code that you will receive just prior to your arrival. If you are arriving during quiet hours we ask that you be courteous to our other guests. Check-out is at 11:00 am on the day of your departure.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
We have a two-night minimum stay on weekends (Friday - Sunday) from May to October and a three-night minimum during holidays.
